Description

The monument comprises the remains of a probable burial cairn located on sloping ground some way to the W of an unfinished hillfort.

The probable cairn forms a conspicuous mound in a pasture field. The mound, which is a turf-covered pile of stones, is about 16m in diameter and around 1m high. No kerb stones are visible at the edge of the cairn but the margin of the monument is obscured by stones cleared from the field.

The area to be scheduled is 45m in diameter, to include the probable cairn and an area around it in which traces of activities associated with the construction and use of the cairn may survive, as shown in red on the accompanying map extract.
