Kat Wallace has her hands full: three lively children, a floundering marriage to a diplomat who is barely ever home, a commission as an officer in the Bosch Pirate Force, and a driving desire to destroy her past enslaver. None of those things has kept her from her mission to eliminate human trafficking on New Earth.

When an unexpected opportunity arises, Kat doesn’t hesitate to take her place at the forefront of this fight. Once there, she must confront resistance and betrayal — not only from her opponents but lurking within the ranks and within her home. As Kat marshals her past allies, she discovers new friendships and opportunities that will change the path of her life ... and transform Bosch’s future. Will Kat survive to see those changes come to fruition?

Editorial Reviews

Review

"This is Kat's third outing, and each book has gotten better and better. Branson writes her heart and soul into these astonishing novels, bringing the reader joy and heartbreak in equal measure. [Kat is] the most imperfect heroine that I've ever had the pleasure to read, and it's what makes her so compelling. It's a brilliant narrative on how you can never really know who someone is behind closed doors. I only hope Kat's story is to continue. The snippets that were revealed about her past life were so heart wrenching - and with enough left unsaid that leaves you thirsting for more. Bravo, Sarah."
— Sally Altass, The Indie Book Nook and Author of The Witch Laws

"Kat Wallace, wife, mother, pirate. The order probably should be mother, pirate, wife. Kat's a strong woman who knows her priorities. Her marriage is faltering, her attempts at destroying the man who kept her in captivity for many years keep falling short, and now she has someone living with her family to watch her children thanks to threats. Even then ... well, you know something has to happen. The anticipation kept me turning the pages.

Burn the Ship is as action-packed and entertaining as the first two books in the series, but in the third novel we see Kat growing as a person, actually feeling her feelings—yikes—and this deepens her personality and increases the stakes in her relationships. The Pirates of New Earth novels are fast-paced, engaging, other world creative, and leave you cheering for Kat at every turn."
— Jacqueline Boulden, Author of Her Past Can't Wait

I hate….. that I started reading at the third book! But I love that I now have that much more to go back and read! Right from the start I’m loving the voice and inner monologue. As a parent I identify so much with being upset about your kid throwing off your morning because they got sick, but then feeling bad for being upset. It was pretty much right away this came up and drew me in. But then I started feeling like I missed something, so that’s when I discovered this is a series and not the first book! I don’t know when I’ll find the time to read the whole series, but I’m thrilled to be reading a fun fictional story about pirates. I haven’t been reading much lately. Especially not fun fictional stories. It’s long overdue and I’m so glad I found this series. I NEVER expected to identify with a pirate and especially not one page in. I was instantly hooked and I’ll be keeping my good eye on this book series, can’t wait to swashbuckle my way through these stories. I’m not going to want to stop reading which is going to make it difficult to work and sleep, but I’m excited to be feeling that way about reading again! It’s been too long (possibly 10 years wow) since I’ve been so excited to read a lot. Can’t wait!

In this third book about the kick-butt post-apocalyptic pirate, Kat Wallace, there’s a story about a ship thats come ashore and is burned by its captain so the crew can not turn back, they’re forced to move forward no matter what’s waiting for them & not look back. We now say that in our house, “Burn the Ship!!” It’s a powerful mantra that helps us say, F-it! What’s in the past is in the past, MOVIN’ ON!
This book finds Kat Wallace on the coat tails of heartache, mental illness, grief, and yet, hope. Slowly rising from the ashes, Kat finds her purpose yet again, and takes the reigns on her path to becoming one of the most powerful people of Bosch. This build up to the 4th and final book is palpable and I’m already mourning the end of this 4 book series! Can’t wait to see what else Sarah Branson has in store!! Bring on “Blow the Man DOWN”!!

Kat Wallace is back and I couldn’t be more excited! In the previous book in this series her evil nemesis killed her love, rose to the vice presidency and believes slavery is good for the economy. Now she’s really upset, just a tad reckless and very driven.

What makes these stories really fun is the way Sarah Branson has truly brought them to life. The descriptive story telling and excellent character development make it easy to open the book and put myself into the story. When a group of friends is sitting at the bar telling stories I find myself nodding and smiling along. I laugh at the gentle ribbing and smirk at the inside jokes.
Burn the ship now there’s no going back!

Branson is really weaving together so many thoughtful and nuanced details into this story. Kat’s life, her relationships, her larger goals, and the ethics of the world are all coming together in this one. It’s a fun adventure, but the inclusion of more political elements really make this one shine.

Kat Warner is fierce and has her fair share of adventures, trials and fun in this book. I like how the author also shares her vulnerability and emotions as well, it really helped me to see her as a mom and not just a pirate.
I can’t wait to find out what happens in book 4.

Kat has finally taken a leadership role in Bosch which gains her allies, and gives her more power to take on her passion of helping other trafficked people. She is still still the same strong, feisty lead character as in the other books, but I love that she seeks help from RTT (Ruth The Therapist) to help her navigate her mental health and trauma from her past. We are introduced to a few new characters as her program of rescue missions grows to needing more units. Kat’s marriage finally comes to a head, and she leans into her wonderful friendship with Matty. Rob Abernathy is still wicked as ever and I had a pit in my stomach every time there was a scene or chapter involving his story line. I’m looking forward to book 4 to see how everything plays out!

Here we find Book 3 in the Pirates of New Earth series by Sarah Branson. This has been the best book as of yet in my opinion. The characters are well developed at this point. This book finds Kat Wallace practically a single mother of three children with a thriving career. She is married but her husband is rarely home. She is also moving up the ranks as an officer in the Bosch Pirate Force! I can’t wait to see what she does next!!
