Andrew Dice Clay and Roseanne Barr announce ‘Mr. and Mrs. America’ tour together and politics may never be the same

Now this should be good, and with the 4th of July just around the corner, the timing couldn’t be more perfect..

Andrew Dice Clay, who was banned from MTV for life, is going on tour with fellow comedian Roseanne Barr just as the 2020 presidential  election is getting cranked up.

Clay told Fox News the gig was inspired by our obsession with political discourse and the policing of comedians’ language. He’s clearly not dissuaded by her joking in a tweet about Obama royalty member Valerie Jarrett being the product of a marriage between the Muslim Brotherhood and the “Planet of the Apes.”

(She would later apologize for the “bad joke,” and said on Twitter that she didn’t know the light-skinned former Obama aide was African-American, not that this deterred ABC from taking action.)

“She’s a comic because she’s wacky,” Clay said. “I’ve known her since we were kids. When people ask about what she said, I say, ‘She’s a comic!’ We gotta stop policing comedians. This is America!”

Dubbed the “The Mr & Mrs America Tour,” you might say the comedians are “doing it for America,” as the network characterized the tour.

The pairing of Barr and Clay, no stranger to controversy, was predictable after Barr made her first live performance since ABC canceled the reboot of  “Roseanne” with the comedian at the Laugh Factory in Las Vegas Back in March.

She was well received by the crowd that night after being introduced, receiving a standing ovation from most in the room.

“I’ve got a special treat for everybody,” Clay said, in introducing Barr. “A close friend of mine, I’d say about 33 years. There haven’t been many as controversial, as outspoken or as f—kin’ funny. Let’s hear it for Roseanne Barr!”

Clay told Fox News he “was given a little flak about this, a little bulls—t, when I pulled her onstage at the Laugh Factory in Vegas.”

“America really needs to lighten up and not worry about the words comedians use because it’s all we have. There’s clean stuff and there’s street stuff. I’m a street guy because I tell it like it is,” he said. “I’m living it more now than I have for a really long time. My shows have been longer, my material is fresher. With these shows, I can do as long as I want because it’s one show a night.”

The reaction to the Instagram post shared by Clay suggests this is going to one popular tour.

“Greatest idea of all time, I gotta see this show,” one social media user said.

“This is a great move Dice!!” another said. “Roseanne is a true pioneer in the comedy world. Two of comedy’s best!!”

“Puhlease come to So Cal. We have lots of material starting with the governor,” a Californian pleaded.
