Garlic Pasta Recipe

Garlic Pasta Recipe
Used Roasted Garlic!

A Garlic Pasta Recipe can add amazing flavor to an already incredible Italian pasta recipe. I used roasted garlic because I love the color it adds to the basic pasta dough and the roasted garlic flavor really pops out!

When I was a kid my Father would make Hay and Straw. It was spinach pasta and plain pasta cooked together to make a green and white pasta mixture. Try it with a garlic pasta!

Learning how to make pasta is fun and it can be very creative. I've made all kinds of flavored pasta and I hope to come up with some more exciting homemade pasta recipes for you to try and enjoy.

It's tons of fun and the flavor makes such a big difference in your meal.

Garlic pasta recipe ingredients:

1 cups of all purpose flour
cup of semolina flour, sifted (You can increase the all purpose flour if you don't have semolina flour)
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
cup of roasted garlic cloves

Put the cup of roasted garlic in a small bowl and mash with a fork.

Preparing the Garlic pasta recipe:

Mix the flours and salt together in a bowl and set in the center of a large cutting board. Create a well shape in the center of the flour.

Beat the eggs and mix the roasted garlic mixture in with the eggs. If you want to pulse a couple of times in a food processor you can.

The mixture is what you're going to place in the well of your sifted flours and salt.

I take a fork and mix in slowly to the flour until it gets to the point where I can dig my hands in and start kneading.

You have to knead the dough for about 10 minutes and don't be afraid to add more flour if it's too wet or you can poke a dent in the dough to add a few drops of water if it's too dry.

There is no real science to this or any Italian cooking. Add a little of this, Add a little of that.

When you've completed the kneading process it's time to let is sit. Place the basic pasta dough in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap for about an hour.

This is a good time to pour a glass of wine.

Use your pasta maker machine to cut your garlic pasta recipe:

I start by rolling out the dough to about inch thick on a cutting board.
Then I cut the dough into 2X3 inch squares or there about.
Run the dough on the highest setting in your pasta machine 2 times.
Continue to lower setting one notch and run it through each time.

I can show you step by step instructions with pictures of how to make pasta along with using your pasta machine right here on this site.

Careful, it's not the same as cooking dried pasta. You don't want to end up with Pasta soup!
