Verizon's Tom Tauke on Changes to Universal Service Fund
On The Communicators, Verizon executive Tom Tauke talks about some recent developments in telecommunications policy, including the Federal Communications Commission's decision to redirect the Universal Service Fund toward the expansion of broadband access into underserved areas. Currently the money is collected to underwrite universal wired telephone service. Mr. Tauke says he doesn't expect phone bills will increase as a result of the change.
