Police Blotter: April 28 - May 5

The weekly crime activity report from the Greenbelt Police.

April 28: A robbery occurred on the 6000 block of Greenbelt Road at 5:13 p.m. The suspect entered a store, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect is described as a black male, 18-29 years old, 6 feet one inch tall, wearing a brown shirt, black pants and a black jacket. 

A disorderly conduct incident occurred on the 6100 block of Greenbelt Road at 6:53 p.m. Edgar Adalberto Guerrero, 32, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner. 

April 29: Jody Devon Wright, 20, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property on the 6200 block of Springhill Court at 11:09 a.m. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Electronics were taken from a residence on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 8:45 p.m.

Zakiya A. Williams-Tillman, 20, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on the intersection of Cherrywood Lane and Springhill Drive at 11:43 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

April 30: An attempted burglary occurred at a residence at 20 Court Hillside Road at 2:47 a.m. 

A robbery occurred on the 7200 block of Hanover Drive at 5:30 a.m. The suspect confronted the victim in a hotel room, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 160-200 pounds, wearing a black jacket, white shirt and red baseball hat. 

A door was vandalized at a residence on the 7200 block of Mandan Road at 9:07 p.m. 

Electronics were taken from a residence on the 7300 block of Mandan Road at 10:12 p.m. 

A black 1996 Volkswagen Jetta with Maryland tags was taken by a suspect known to the victim on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane. 

A front Maryland tag was taken on the intersection of Lakecrest Drive and Lakeside Drive.

May 1: A robbery took place on the 9300 block of Edmonston Road at 7:47 a.m. The suspect, who is known to the victim, took the victim’s keys to her car and took the victim’s gray 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis with District of Columbia tags.  

Marco Frank Williams, 18, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 100 block of Westway at 12:24 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial. 

A burglary took place on the 9100 block of Edmonston Court at 4:15 p.m. Nothing was taken. 

A wheel was taken off of a vehicle on the 5600 block of Greenbelt Metro Drive.

May 2: A call for a suspicious vehicle was reported on the 9200 block of Springhill Lane at 9:01 a.m. A black SUV occupied by a white male, 40-50 years old, brown hair, wearing a light blue shirt, pulled alongside a 13-year-old female and told her to get in the vehicle. The girl fled to a local store and called police. The vehicle could not be located by responding officers. 

Joshua Michael Neel, 18, of Berwyn Heights, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 12:53 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial. 

Electronics were taken from a residence on the 9100 block of Springhill Court at 1:44 p.m. 

Electronics and clothing were taken from a residence on the 7300 block of Mandan Road at 7:24 p.m.

May 3: Teddy Kai Kai Merchant, 25, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court at 10:22 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial. 

Electronics were taken from a residence on the 9100 block of Edmonston Court at 4:54 p.m. 

A sword was taken from a residence on the 9300 block of Edmonston Road at 6:38 p.m. 

Richard Billie Harris, 21, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway at 4:36 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

May 4: Tires were cut on the 6600 block of Lake Park Drive. 

A white 1994 Honda Civic with Maryland tags, reported stolen through Montgomery County Police, was recovered using the License Plate Reader on the intersection of Edmonston Terrace and Edmonston Court. No arrests were made.  

May 5: James Ellis McCall, 39, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic accident on the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway at 12:27 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial. 

A strong arm robbery occurred at 4 Court Gardenway at 3:54 p.m. Three suspects approached two victims near the overpass. The suspects assaulted the victims and took the victims’ property. Police responded and located the suspects nearby. Benson Aurelio Thorne, 19, of Washington, D.C., and two juveniles, one resident and one non-resident, were all charged with robbery, attempted robbery and second degree assault. Thorne was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner. The juveniles were released to their respective guardians pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services. 

A rear Maryland tag was taken from a vehicle on the 9100 block of Edmonston Road.
