A trial over the city’s treatment of the disabled during disasters began Monday in Manhattan Federal Court.

The trial stems from a class action suit filed in 2011 by Disability Rights Advocates, which alleges the city’s disabled are left out of disaster plans.

Plaintiff Joyce De La Rosa, 55, uses a wheelchair and said she was stuck in her Kips Bay apartment for three days after Hurricane Sandy. “It was very scary knowing that there was no city agency or anyone to count on,” said De La Rosa, who was hospitalized after the ordeal.
