Ladies and Gentlemen, I am in medical research since 1990. I started my professional career in a German university where I became professor of Anesthesiology. A few years ago I accepted an offer to become chief anesthesiologist of a research group of a gas company close to Paris/France. In 2008 I attended the Congress of the American Society of Anesthesiologists in Orlando, Florida, where I became aware of some alarming study results: 1. The one-year-mortality in adults correlates in a linear way to the depth of anesthesia, even if sophisticated statistic calculations attempt to eliminate that factor as an artifact (1). 2. US American studies revealed that children in the USA even 10 years after anesthesia have lower IQs than comparable children not having undergone anesthesia. That effect presently is investigated by the FDA in the so called SAFEKIDS Project (2). With a former co worker who is now Professor of Anesthesia in the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada (Michael Schmidt) , I discussed old experimental by-chance findings from our time in Germany during which we found in anesthetized animals exposed to the anesthetic vapor Halothane brain damage parameters whichs concentrations measured by intra cerebral micro dialysis were correlating in a linear way with the depth of anesthesia adjusted by

In the gas xenon, which we had used for comparison, that correlation was not found and Glutamate concentrations were significantly lower in the brain of xenon exposed animals. Because those findings were by chance and the study was not planned accurately for this question and because Halothane is not used anymore we did not publish our results. However in 2008 when we met during the congress of the American Association of Anesthesiologists we planned to repeat the experiment and to verify, if those finding could also be present in the most modern agent which is used, being also used preferably in children, SEVOFLURANE, which is C4H3F7O. After the study was planned and approved here in Paris our intention was to conduct it in the Dalhousie University in Halifax / Canada. However a few very strange things happened which in the end lead to the study not being carried out. Some of those events might be unconnected, however I will mention them. Everything occurred after the study was discussed, planned and approved: 1. The group manager and the external scientific advisor were fired. 2. After some month a new group manager from the USA was introduced (Ms. Linda Myrick) who was former CEO of a small US gas company, Scott Specialty Gases. 3. Ms. Linda Myrick, the new manager did many apparently odd things which blocked us from starting the project and in the end the study was cancelled without any further consultation. 4. October 2011. I had started some background checks earlier and after some time I had found the following facts which after a time of consideration and actually an article concerning water fluoridation in New Jersey, NYT 02.02.2012, cause me to write this letter and to kindly request you to take notice of those: 1. Scott Specialty Gases has a little subsidiary called Scott Homeland Security which is able to produce all known chemical warfare agents for the calibration of measurement devices (3). 2. Ms. Linda Myrick had disclosed to all of us a second professional involvement, being director of the US company INNOPHOS during the time she was appointed our group manager and also in the present time. INNOPHOS is not connected to the French gas company AIR LIQUIDE, having been my employer. Her director position and her position in France is mentioned in the yearly bulletin for INNOPHOS shareholders 2010 but not in the corresponding bulletin of AIR LIQUIDE (4). 3. INNOPHOS is one of the worlds largest producer of phosphates, which play absolutely no role in Anesthesia. However INNOPHOS is also one of the largest producers of Fluorides, Phosphates being the natural source of fluorides. 4. From her connection to Scott Homeland Security Ms. Myrick most likely to had more knowledge about toxic gases than I have. Only after I had found Ms. Myricks connection to INNOPHOS and the possible link to our study via the fluorides, I became aware of the present discussion concerning water fluoridation in the USA and Canada. Until then I thought it to be just another world conspiracy theory. The events which occurred in the years 2010 and 2011 obviously were the deliberate (and successful) attempt to hamper the investigation mentioned above by an undercover agent from an industrial competitor having been completely unknown to us, fluoride toxicity until then not having been the focus of our scientific interest. Some of the details of the procedure are quite concerning from my point of view: On top is the fact that INNOPHOS did not send a professional industrial spy but that a director, who went undercover to interfere with our research. It indicates the secrecy and also the importance of the topic for INNOPHOS, Fluoride being only a small side business for the company. The attack therefore certainly did not aim to rescue that small surplus income. From the medical information which was accessed by myself in the meantime, it can be assumed a possible connection between water fluoridation, anesthesia and brain damage as described above: From perfluorocarbones, used as blood replacement, it is known that those are stored in a compartment of the human organism, the rethiculo endothelial system or RES, the substances not being metabolized. Those PFCs then are exhaled over a very long time. This mechanism is a natural detoxification mechanism for substances which cannot be metabolized otherwise (5, 5a, 5b). Those substances are buffered and cleared over a prolonged period to avoid toxic peak concentrations in vulnerable organs like the brain. If during long time exposure with small amounts of fluoride like exposure to fluorinated water that buffer mechanism can be assumed to be saturated or exhausted, any further exposure with fluoride containing compounds or drugs then will lead to non mitigated toxic effects of fluoride. Sevoflurane) and sedatives as well as anti depressants; best known is Fluoxetin or Prozac. In our planned study which unintentionally was planned to be conducted in Canada, a region which in contrary to Europe has water fluoridation and using a substance, SEVOFLURANE, containing more than three times as much fluoride than the one we used in our former experiments, HALOTHANE, the curve of cerebral damage parameters possibly would have looked much more impressive and that could be the reason why the study had to be sabotaged in this uncommon way. I do not intend to cause any damage to the persons or entities involved. I had reported what I had found about Ms. Myrick and INNOPHOS to my former employer, however not having received a reply and not having been at the time employed in the company anymore, I do not know how the case was handled. I am fully aware that everything above is pure speculation and my hypothesis can be completely wrong. However if not, many US and Canadian citizens already are damaged and Millions will be damaged in the future, which definitively must be prevented or at least the hypothesis above should be excluded from being valid. I am presently not in the position to steer any scientific projects. My aim therefore is to consider if some other group might carry out the forestalled experiments. And if during the procedure any strange occurrences hamper the progress, those might be aware into which direction it is necessary to look. I would be most happy if my hypothesis comes out to be wrong. However the fact that SEVOFLURANE presently in many countries is renamed into SEVORANE to omit the association to its fluoride content of seven fluoride atoms (C4H3F7O) doesnt make me feel more comfortable.
