PITTSBURG — Pittsburg police are investigating an allegation of possible child endangerment or child neglect at the Spectrum Center Delta Campus, Capt. Ron Raman said Tuesday.
Raman said he was not prepared to release additional details due to the ongoing investigation.
“I hope to have more information in the next couple of days,” he said.
Danielle La Vaute, program director at the private special education school, said she could not discuss specifics of the case due to student confidentiality laws. The school deals with students who are diagnosed with emotional disturbances, along with autism or other intellectual disabilities, she said.
“Every staff member is trained to use-hands on intervention and that’s one of the things that’s being questioned currently,” she said. “We’ve done a full internal investigation and the police are involved.”
