Maui park closed due to suspected unexploded ordnance
Keopuolani Park near the playground area in Kahului was closed Monday morning because of a suspected unexploded ordnance found.
Police have summoned military explosives experts for removal of the object.
The Hawaiian immersion students, including those from King Kekaulike, Kalama and Paia schools who get dropped off at Keopuolani Park are being redirected to the War Memorial Stadium,police said.
