7-Eleven Store Set to Relocate

As the saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.

At least that's the case for the 7-Eleven store along Route 198, which is set to close shop and move a couple hundred feet to Marshal Avenue, where a new 3,200-square-foot store will be constructed in the Park Place complex.

During a recent city work session, council members gave their thumbs-up for the developer to move forward with the project on the condition that the new building blend in with surrounding buildings, and not include gas pumps.

Laurel Bus Routes Facing Cuts

It may be the end of the line for bus routes in Laurel due to a looming budget deficit at the Central Maryland Regional Transit.

The Laurel Leader is reporting that a $310,000 deficit has put the F Route, which travels from Laurel Mall to the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, on the chopping block while modifying the C Route, which runs from Laurel Mall to North Laurel.

Laurel's Women's Club Makes Big Donation

Could more health services be on their way via a bus to area residents who are uninsured?

According to The Gazette, that seems likely after the Women's Club of Laurel shelled out its biggest donation yet—$10,000—to the WellMobile program, a bus staffed by health professionals including nurses and social workers who provide free services.
