Connellsville teacher on leave, under investigation
Sources say teacher works at Connellsvlle Area Junior High School
A special education teacher in Fayette County has been placed on administrative leave and is under investigation after an incident with a student.
Officials with the Connellsville Area School District would not provide specific information about the incident but said it is being thoroughly investigated.
“The matter is still under investigation, and I really can’t comment at this time,” said district business manager Philip Martell. “We take every situation seriously, and we perform our due diligence to protect everybody.”

Sources told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 the teacher works at Connellsvlle Area Junior High, where she leads a Life Skills program for students with special needs.
The incident in question happened about a month ago, but authorities would not say whether the student was injured or what led up to it.
Connellsville police said they had not been contacted about the incident, and the investigation was being handled by school district police.
No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
