Suspect in Oregon City shooting is dead

The suspect involved in an Oregon City shooting is dead, according to Clackamas County Sheriff's Sgt. Dan Kraus.

At around 1:04 p.m. Oregon City Police and Clackamas Fire District

responded to a fire and report of an armed man at the 800 block of Linn Ave

. in Oregon City. At least one home was on fire.

Brandon Paxton, a spokesman with Clackamas Fire District confirmed an officer was shot at the scene. The officer was later taken by LifeFlight Helicopter to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center.

Police had roped off areas of the neighborhood as they searched for the suspect. People were also evacuated from the area, and two SWAT units responded.
