They should try the Gentoo restaurant up the road. Much leaner and more personally tailored to individual taste, but preparation takes quite a bit longer.

heh..

2009-02-25 3:54:19 PM
And they have to go to a store to buy an ingredient that none of the cookbooks mention but the recipe won't work without.

I also heard that people were complaining that although the food tasted the same, they didn't like it because it looked different than what they were used to. Also, they couldn't believe that anybody would just give away perfectly good food for free.

Run:

Then try it again.

You could also eat at Debian's - the food's not as fresh, but you'll never get indigestion.

Screw you guys, if I share my recipe for Chili con Carne, how will I ever make money? If you want to test it you can just come to me and I'll make some for you

Nah, the customers there are all insufferable and don't ever shut up about the mundane details of the food preparation.

You know, the biggest problem with this place is the waiters.

They never bring you your food; they just tell you how great it is and how you can do anything you want with it once it arrives.

Are you saying that this linux can run on a computer without windows underneath it, at all ? As in, without a boot disk, without any drivers, and without any services? That sounds preposterous to me.

If it were true (and I doubt it), then companies would be selling computers without a windows. This clearly is not happening, so there must be some error in your calculations. I hope you realize that windows is more than just Office ? Its a whole system that runs the computer from start to finish, and that is a very difficult thing to achieve. A lot of people don't realize this.

Microsoft just spent $9 billion and many years to create Vista, so it does not sound reasonable that some new alternative could just snap into existence overnight like that. It would take billions of dollars and a massive effort to achieve. IBM tried, and spent a huge amount of money developing OS/2 but could never keep up with Windows. Apple tried to create their own system for years, but finally gave up recently and moved to Intel and Microsoft.

Its just not possible that a freeware like the Linux could be extended to the point where it runs the entire computer from start to finish, without using some of the more critical parts of windows. Not possible.

I think you need to re-examine your assumptions.

Thanks! Some guy on alt.linux.with.a.touch.of.thyme told me to use a tarball of dried_watercress and after I did, everything turned black.

Why is all the food at this restaurant brown?

2009-02-25 5:00:48 PM
The recipes are hard to follow too. They explain all the ways you can combine the ingredients, but don't give any clear step-by-step examples of actually putting a recipe together. Not to mention, everyone you ask for help has the disposition of Gordon Ramsey and yells at you for even being in the kitchen.

If cooking the food yourself isn't to your liking I hear Chef Jobs at OSX has the same delicious food, but prepared for you with much better presentation. Still, the food tends to be overpriced, the clientele tend to be pretentious, and the selection is limited. Also, there are rumors the chef has died.

7.5/10. Your bad information and bad computer science is offset just slightly by enough historical fact to make this one juicy enough to grab at.

Winner.

Although most recent releases have been running great, out of box. In fact, I've hard a harder time getting wireless and other drivers running on new Win installs. Seriously.

I tried the Slackware shack up the road - but I had to ./configure my GPS to get me there and then I had to make the waitstaff serve(r) me. They gave me a bunch of packages of tar. So I had to make clean my hands in the restroom.
