A 17-year-old boy was shot and seven people were arrested after a fight near Southcenter Mall in Tukwila Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police responded to reports of up to 15 people fighting the parking lot of the 100 block of Andover Park West around 4 p.m., according to the Tukwila Police Department.
The teens and young adults involved in the fight had left by the time officers arrived, but the officers then heard multiple gunshots nearby. An officer saw a car with several occupants flee the area where the shots were fired and pursued the car.
Other officers searched the area for potential victims and located a male who had been shot in the lower back. The male was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

The vehicle pursuit ended at King County’s Bow Lake Transfer Station, where the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled. Four young adult males, a female teenager and two others were found and detained, the police department said. The seven will be booked on suspicion of assault.
