The Brooklyn man charged with suffocating his wheelchair-bound girlfriend Sunday feverishly tried to revive her before leaving the body and their two-year-old son alone for 16 hours, court documents show.

The bizarre and disturbing details were revealed after Angelo Sanchez, 41, was arraigned Tuesday for the murder of Melissa Torres, 32.

Sanchez, who has a long criminal history, was ordered held without bail.

He confessed to putting a blanket over the mouth of his girlfriend of 18 years “until she became unresponsive” inside their Williamsburg apartment, according to the criminal complaint.

He then tried “to resuscitate her by throwing water at her and placing her into the bathtub with water running on top of her face and body,” the document stated.

Several hours later, Sanchez allegedly told cops, he bolted from the apartment, leaving his son Elijah unattended for 16 hours. Torres’ lifeless body was later discovered by relatives.

Defense attorney George Cooke said in Brooklyn Criminal Court that the couple had no history of domestic violence and that Sanchez had turned himself in and cooperated with investigators.

The lawyer declined to answer questions about what could have led to his client’s actions.
