Sources: Indiana talks to Kevin Wilson

Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson became the third assistant coach to meet with Indiana University athletic director Fred Glass this week to discuss the Hoosiers' vacant head coach job, sources told ESPN.com.

Wilson met with Glass on Friday, according to a source. He is considered a leading candidate for the job along with Michigan State offensive coordinator Don Treadwell, who met with Glass earlier this week.

A source told ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg that Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Doeren met with Glass on Friday.

Indiana fired Bill Lynch on Oct. 28 after a third straight losing season. Despite finishing 5-7, Lynch's team won just one game in the Big Ten, an overtime victory over Purdue in its season finale.

Lynch was 19-30 in four seasons since taking over as interim coach when then-coach Terry Hoeppner died from complications of a brain tumor in 2007.

Wilson and the Sooners play Nebraska on Saturday in the Big 12 Championship Game in Dallas. His interview with Glass is believed to have taken place in Oklahoma City; the team is traveling to Dallas Friday afternoon. Under Wilson, Oklahoma's fast-tempo offense ranks 12th nationally in yards and 16th in scoring. In 2008, led by Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford, the Sooners led the nation in scoring, averaging than 50 points per game.

Wilson has Big Ten experience, serving from 1999-2001 at Northwestern as offensive coordinatorunder Randy Walker. That staff is credited with many of the innovations that went into creating the spread offense.

Treadwell earned national acclaim by stepping in for Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio after he had a heart attack following Michigan State's overtime victory over Notre Dame. He was the acting head coach on the sidelines for the Spartans for several games, all of them victories, including handing Wisconsin its only defeat of the season.

Iowa offensive coordinator Ken O'Keefe and Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio are also interested in the Indiana job, sources said.

Doeren and Treadwell also are believed to be candidates for the Vanderbilt job.
