‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Cheering Failure

September 7, 2012

I don’t know what or who a “Larry L. whose email is texahome@gmail.com” is but “it” wrote me the following earlier this morning: “You should be ashamed of yourself making a statement about the Obama’s such as you did. There is no basis or facts to base such a statement. You are only about ratings. You sir a disgrace to the black race. You are the racist. You are nothing but a black Rush Limbaugh. And no I didn’t vote for Obama in 2008. But I damn sure going to this time. People with loud mouths like yours are driving me to vote for him this year.”

Poor Larry is emblematic of those who support Obama. His attack is as poorly delivered and without substance as Obama’s speech was last night.
His has been the greatest lack of leadership we can point to, certainly in my lifetime. He was elected to lead, but instead he golfed and blamed Bush, as his wife spent taxpayer money and enjoyed lavish vacations
Charles Krauthammer said that, “[Obama] gave one of the emptiest speeches I’ve ever heard on a national stage…There was nothing in it. This is a man who believes that government can and should do a lot…And he pulls numbers out of a hat: 100,000 new math and science teachers, 600,000 more people working in natural gas, and two million more trainees…[but] as we heard, he didn’t speak about achievements, the one that liberals like, [e.g.,] Obamacare, stimulus, and etc…they’re unpopular.”

Obama incredulously said that Romney and the Republicans don’t want us to know what their plan was. That said, we need not ask Obama what his plan is for the future. His plan for America hasn’t changed since he took office–it is as he told his assembled minions in 2004: “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” His objective, if reelected, will be to complete that task.

His has been the greatest lack of leadership we can point to, certainly in my lifetime. He was elected to lead, but instead he golfed and blamed Bush, as his wife spent taxpayer money and enjoyed lavish vacations.

As Krauthammer pointed out, Obama now promises to create jobs. My question is why didn’t he create jobs in his first term? Why did he ignore the economy in favor of increasing the debt through the expansion of government? If he was willing to ignore the increasing joblessness of the American people for four years, why should we believe he will suddenly shift course if reelected and without another election to be concerned about?

Now he is attempting to make a case for another term. He claims that things were worse than they imagined, but he omits that his “shovel ready jobs weren’t so shovel ready” as he laughingly told an audience. He omits that there are now 88,891,000 not in the labor force. He didn’t mention that the true unemployment number is 14.9 percent. Obama didn’t mention that the jobs report showed another 368,000 dropped out of the employment search. He failed to mention that gasoline prices are now averaging $3.82 gallon but were $1.84 per gallon when he took office and that high fuel prices are the greatest source of discomfort to those already suffering because high fuel prices cause the price of everything else to increase.

Obama didn’t mention that when he took office the national debt was $10.6 trillion and today on his watch in roughly three and a half years, it is $16.4 trillion. He did not mention that nearly 50 million people are now on food stamps on his watch. Nor did he mention that median income is down an average of $4,000 annually.

Obama didn’t mention that his party had majorities in both the House and the Senate, (with a super majority in the Senate), for the first two years of his first term. Nor does he mention that Democrats had majorities in the House and Senate from 2006-2010 and that from 2006-2008 he himself was part of the majority that helped create the economic disaster he now blames Bush for.

But people like our boy “Larry L.,” referenced above, don’t want to be confused with facts or confronted with reality. They just want to blame and call names–which is what their effeminate leader does in spades.

I think my son summed the entire Democrat convention up in a nutshell for those who are capable of reasoned thinking. He said to me yesterday: “Dad, we tried to watch some of the Democrat convention and we just couldn’t.”

So should it be with his bid for reelection, many people tried to support him, but the end result is that due to his policies they just couldn’t.
