POLICE are looking for witnesses after a disabled man was attacked and robbed in Worcester.
The robbery took place at about 9.50pm on Thursday, August 30, and was described by police as “particularly nasty” because of the victims visible disability.
The victim, in his 50s, was approached while he was walking along Tolladine Road heading away from the city centre.
When he was near the Railway Club he was approached by a man who punched him several times in the face.
The thief, described as white, in his 40s, about 5ft 9ins tall, slim and wearing dark clothing, then took the man's wallet.
Detective Constable Paul Matthews said: "This was a violent robbery that was particularly nasty as it targeted a man who has a visible disability and as such was clearly vulnerable.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Tolladine Road last week to call the police and if anyone has any information as to who may be responsible for the crime, please get in touch."
Anyone with information should call 101 and quote 0195N 30/08/12 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
