DENVER — Frontier Airlines has been slapped with a $50,000 fine for violating rules that protect disabled passengers.
It’s a result of what happened to a Colorado State University student in June. He’s paralyzed from the neck down.
The pilot didn’t think he could be properly restrained, so he was asked to get off the Frontier jet.
The family refused to get off the plan, saying they had used the same restraints on several Frontier Airlines flights before.
So the pilot refused to fly.
Police eventually came on the plane and escorted the family off of it.
The U.S. Department of Transportation issued the fine, saying it is the airline’s responsibility to notify disabled passengers before a flight if they are unable to accommodate them.
