Whatever You Do, Take Care Of Your Shoes

A big happy birthday to Bob Weir, who turns 63 today.  A founding member of the Grateful Dead, Weir is largely credited for shifting the band from it’s bluesy base (thank you Pig Pen) to a more Americana sound with his introduction of cowboy songs to the band’s repertoire.  His rhythm guitar added to the unique sound the band developed, and mixed perfectly with the wild guitar solos of Jerry Garcia.  It’s good to see him still rocking with Phil and Furthur, and hopefully he keeps it up for years to come.  Here’s two great clips:  one old-school Grateful Dead, and one newer with Furthur.
