I bought two of these to watch my pets while I am at work. I have a cat ill with heart disease; and I have a dog/dog walker situation and I wanted to watch how it's going. This camera is fantastic to serve both those needs. Picture is exceedingly clear and it serves an excellent purpose. I feel much better knowing I can check in and am alerted to any noises that occur while I am not home. Would also serve as great alert if someone came into the home unexpectedly. UPDATE: I'm still happy, but...and it's a big but - it's a huge data hog if you like to check the video feed frequently. Also the camera's "sound detection" alerts go off every few minutes all day long - even when there is no reason for them to do so. Even when I have the alert system set to the lowest possible level (ie it would take a very loud noise to set them off). It doesn't seem to engage itself to start doing this until you actually open the application to take a peek at what's going on, but once you do, it's an endless stream of notifications. Can't figure out how to stop it other than to turn off notifications entirely, which kind of defeats the purpose of having the system. Also - can't leverage PC (due to Java issue) to log into the system off site. Can only rely on iPhone. a bit frustrating. Help? Anyone else have same issue?

I would not trust this to be a baby monitor. Constantly has connectivity issues with the "monitor" server. For example, it will send an alert that a sound was detected, but it will not allow you to access the camera to view. Could be used for other non critical things, but I simply can't trust it to watch my baby.

Worked great with my android phone but not with my iPhone

This has easily paid for itself already because of 2 features. The ability to pan in any direction has saved the carpet in my toddler's room a few times already. I can pan over from her bed to the door where she tends to take off her clothes. The second feature that has worked much better than I anticipated is the ability to talk to my toddler. When going to bed, she tends to get out of bed after a few minutes to try to keep herself awake. By telling her to get back in bed and go to sleep, she will because the voice actually sounds like me, not some robot sounding or CB radio version of my voice.

It was easy to setup, and I am using on several android devices, and an iPad.

The one thing that drops this down to 4 stars is the actual video quality of the camera. All of the pictures that I have seen on the website of little kids that look like they are taken with a real point and shoot camera don't seem to me like they came from this camera. I was originally expecting to be able to get some cute pictures of my toddler using this camera, but that is definitely not the case. The camera is good enough to show me what I need to see, but its not the high quality camera shots that it could be.

So I purchased this product based on my knowledge of Motorola and their products. Since it arrived, it has been nothing but a hassle. After about 10 attempts to get it to work, all I have seen is the firmware update popping up multiple times (I downloaded each time), disconnection every 10 seconds (local and remote connection), frame rate of <5 fps (local connection), constant app freezing and crashing (iOS), and no tech support. To call, you have between 8am and 6pm EST, Monday through Friday. That's really convenient for us folks on PST. We literally have to take a day off from work to call for support because obviously you have to be home to try and get it to work while they are on the line with you.

I literally placed the camera on the desk with the router and my iPhone and couldn't connect. Once I did, it disconnected after 5 seconds claiming connectivity issues. Meanwhile my phone gets on the internet just fine and my network is running blazing fast.

Oh, and tonight I went to the camera server website. Their site was down, meaning all the cameras on their network all crashed. Kinda scary since these are used for baby monitoring.

Anyway, I emailed their support and so far no response. Looks like this product will get returned and I'll find something else.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. The only reason they got a star is because I couldn't do less.

FYI - I am in the computer networking and programming fields. This should be a walk in the park.

Music plays to load and there is no feature were you can adjust the volume.

The first few days we had the camera it worked very well, during the night and day time, image quality was good and the everything was working well.

About 3 days in the night vision started having problems and the picture was so bad it was unusable. I am an IT professional so I changed the QoS on my home router, verified I had the ports open and made the camera the priority for network traffic, the day time image was even better than before but the night time image was always black with a pink or blue hue.

Another drawback I had not considered is how much battery any cell phone consumes running the monitor app. We used android and apple OS devices with similar battery drain results.

I did not try to get a new device or replacement, I went to another store in town and pick up a monitor for about $50 less and it works just fine.
