UMd. Students Robbed at Gunpoint on Knox Road

The suspect demanded the money in their wallets before fleeing on foot down Knox Road.

Two University of Maryland students were robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning on the 4300 block of Knox Road. 

According to police, the students were walking westbound on Knox Road toward Baltimore Avenue around 1:45 a.m., when they passed the suspect. The suspect turned around, reached into his coat and pulled out a black handgun, which he pointed at the students. The suspect then demanded the money in their wallets, and both students complied. The suspect fled on foot toward Hartwick Road. 

The suspect is described as a black male who is between 5 foot 9 inches and 5 foot 11 inches tall, and weighs between 180 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a black skull cap, a black puffy jacket and blue sweat pants with yellow stripes.
