Harrisburg police: Autistic man attacked by three robbers

Harrisburg police are looking for three men who attacked an autistic man Monday and stole his fanny pack. The victim suffered a cut to his head and was taken to a hospital. The crime occurred in the 1400 block of Brady Street.

HARRISBURG- Harrisburg police are investigating after three men attacked and robbed a vulnerable autistic man Monday.

The crime occurred just after 5 p.m. in the 1400 block of Brady Street, said Police Sgt. Gabriel Olivera.

Olivera gave this account:

The 30-year-old victim was talking to a woman outside when three strangers suddenly accosted him and punched him, breaking his eyeglasses.

The men knocked the victim to the ground and beat him as the horrified woman screamed for them to stop.

The robbers fled with the victim's fanny pack, which contained his wallet and cell phone. No weapons were displayed.

The victim suffered a cut to his head and his shorts were torn during the attack.

The victim went to a hospital for treatment.

Police did not release detailed descriptions of the attackers.
