Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) “says voter displeasure with Democrats in Washington will lead to a Republican takeover of the U.S. Senate in November and a ‘free-enterprise renaissance’ in America,” the AP reports.

At a chamber of commerce speech Thursday the Oklahoma Republican rattled off 13 Democrat-held Senate seats he thinks Republicans could take. He also strongly defended the use of congressional earmarks as an important part of the federal budget process.

He says President Obama’s policies toward the energy, finance, insurance and health industries have led to a "shock treatment" of the American electorate.

Inhofe’s term “doesn’t expire until 2014 and the 75-year-old says if he continues to feel healthy he’ll seek another six-year term in office.”
