Initially they will be building an entirely greenfield high-frequency trading system, and must be comfortable in the entire development lifecycle – working with quants, developing greenfield code, familiarising with new asset classes, and deploying live trading systems. They will have had a good, broad development and systems exposure, in addition to experience of working closely with a high-frequency trading desk.

Essential requirements:

• Expert Java - excellent core understanding and low-level programming experience
• Experience of low-latency systems
• Performance profiling/optimisation
• Test-driven development

Desirable experience:
• Strong C++
• Front office/trading, algorithmic trading experience
• Good knowledge of various asset classes
• UNIX system administration and shell scripting
• FIX, fast FIX decoders

The company is keen to recruit an extremely talented individual looking for the chance to stretch themselves and demonstrate their abilities in an environment where they can make a real difference to their business.
