ISIS Fighters Stand on Captured Jet – Threaten Putin
“We will liberate Chechnya and Caucasus”
In late August the ISIS terror group captured SA-16 Manpads, AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles and MiG-21B jets when they took control of the Raqqa airbase in Syria.
ISIS added MiG-21B Russian jets to their arsenal.
The terror group also collected several SA-16 Manpads. This missile features a new seeker and modified launcher nose cover.
The AIM-9 Sidewinder missile is a short-range air-to-air missile. The majority of Sidewinder variants utilize infrared homing for guidance.
On August 3, 2014, ISIS released a video from Taqba airbase in Syria.
