The Google Chrome developers at Google proudly announced a few minutes ago, September 16th, the stable release and immediate availability for download of the Google Chrome 14 web browser for Linux, Windows, Macintosh and Chrome Frame platforms.
The new Google Chrome 14 web browser comes with two new exciting features, such as the Web Audio API that allows developers to add fancy audio effects like room spatialization and simulation, and the Native Client, which allows seamlessly and secured execution of C and C++ code inside the Chrome web browser.
"Today, we’re happy to ship a new release to the Stable channel of Chrome, following up on last month’s Beta channel release. This release contains two significant technologies which allow developers to create even more powerful web apps and games." - was stated in the official blog announcement.
However, the Native Client technology only supports apps listed in the Google Chrome Web Store, but the developers are working hard to remove this nasty limitation as soon as possible.
Google Chrome 14.0.835.163 is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures with binary packages for the Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) operating system and various other RPM-based distributions.
