Weaver, who turns 23 on Monday, appeared in District Court on May 18, where initial charges of first-degree assault and armed robbery — both felonies — were reduced to misdemeanors of second-degree assault and theft of less than $1,000.

Weaver opted to waive his right to a preliminary hearing on April 22, scheduled for that day. Because the case was heard in District Court, the preliminary hearing also served as Weaver's arraignment hearing.

Weaver's trial is now scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 24 at the Circuit Court for Prince George's County court house in Upper Marlboro.
