Andres Sanchez the bassist aka
Sanchez Dub has a definitive style that fuses electronic rhythms and digital programming with dub harmonies, delays and reverberation.A pioneer on the Mexican music scene, his synthesis of African, Latin and Caribbean music with electronic beats opened up what was once an inhospitable route in Mexico. His ground breaking career began in 1995 when he co-founded Titán and released the album “Karate Mix”.In 1999, he was part of the second production “Elevator” which was edited by Virgin. He then moved on to Sanchez&Ruiz, currently known as Ruisort with whom he made the album “Acapulco Now” under the label Certificate 18 in London.Later collaborations with Fake Fazz and Wako Texas allowed him to flex his prowess for live improvisation on the bass, bringing a unique flavor of Jazz and Funk.A subsequent collaboration with Uriel Esquenazi in B.N.Loco also shows a distinctively Latin sound.
Andres Sanchez knows no boundaries in musical exploration and collaboration, his involvement in projects with the likes of Jacobo Lieberman, Leo Heiblum and Alexis Ruiz with whom he founded the Exotic Ensemble and another concept Los Shajatos, used alternate sounds of Hindu Tabla, vibraphone, banjo and bass.He played bass in the group Digi&Gabo and his most recent tour as bassist with the Mexican Institute of Sound (IMS) took him to the U.S.A and Europe.Andres Sanchez now owns a music production company , called HAMACA MUSIC, composing music for commercials, television, theater and film.
After this profound and surreptitous journey through Latin music, Hip Hop, Jazz and Funk Sanchez Dub has drawn upon his influences in creating a new album, described as “deeply electro yet tantalisingly organic”. The album was produced by English Producer Phil Vinall who has worked with renowned bands such as: Radiohead, Zoe, Placebo, and Elastica. The combination of electronic beats and Phil’s Rock background resulted in a fresh final product. The construction of songs and organic sound of instruments translates Sanchez Dub into a exciting live band. The album features a variety of musicians from diverse parts of the globe, aswell as home grown talent from the Mexican scene.
Sancnez Dub started in 2000 and has been working as a producer since then. Sanchez had done lots of remixes and songs that have been used in several movies and compilations. In May a new album is coming out with the help of Phil Vinall.
