Jamie Lynn Spears was forced to pull a knife out after her friend was allegedly attacked in front of her - and the shocking moment was filmed on CCTV.

In a video, obtained by TMZ, Britney Spears' sister had stopped for some food at the Pita Pit in Hammond, Louisiana, when her friend was apparently hit with a bottle.

Rushing to the rescue, Jamie reportedly pulled her friend to safety behind the counter, before brandishing a "long serrated bread knife" to ward off the attacker.

She can be seen holding it in front of her, but doesn't appear to touch anyone with it.

Woah

Police were called but no-one was arrested, the site reports, because Jamie's pal didn't want to press charges.

We have contacted Jamie's reps for comment.

The star posted a snap with her friend just hours before the alleged incident, smiling happily together.

She captioned the shot: "Happy Birthday @brandiblair22 !!! #nofilter."

The star wed businessman Jamie Watson earlier this year, having taken a break from the spotlight to raise her daughter.

She released her first country music album The Journey just months later, following in her older sister's footsteps and paving a career in music.
