Forest Grove police accuse man of throwing breakfast sandwich at fast food employee

A 48-year-old Banks man was arrested after police say he threw a breakfast sandwich at a

Jack in the Box employee, striking her in the back of the head Thursday afternoon.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., Lawrence Staley, of Banks, went to the drive-through at the fast food joint, located off

, said Capt. Mike Herb, a

spokesman. Staley reportedly made an order, then drove back around and went into the restaurant to complain about his food.

Herb said Staley had taken issue with his curly fries. An employee, Herb said, explained to Staley that curly fries are more expensive than regular fries. Reportedly, the employee then gave Staley an order of regular fries in addition to the curly fries.

Herb said Staley began to walk away, but decided he still wasn't satisfied. Staley then reached into his bag, grabbed a food item and pitched it at the employee, but missed. He then grabbed his Breakfast Jack – cheese, egg and ham between a toasted bun – and chucked it at the employee, nailing her in the back of the head, Herb said. She was not injured.

The restaurant's manager chased Staley outside, where another altercation ensued, Herb said. The manager took down Staley's license plate number as he left.

Police located Staley in Banks, where he was taken into custody on accusations of harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct, Herb said. He was lodged in the
