American actress Roseanne Barr has revealed she is going blind.
The star of the hit Channel 4 comedy Roseanne said her eyesight is slowly deteriorating due to a medical condition adding that her use of cannabis helps alleviate her symptoms.
“I have macular degeneration and glaucoma, so [cannabis is] good for me for that because I have pressure in my eyes,” she told US website The Daily Beast.
“[Cannabis is a] good medicine for a lot of things,” Barr said.
The 62-year-old said doctors had not given her a time frame as to when her sight will be completely gone but she added her “vision is closing in now.”
The actress is a well known advocate of legalising cannabis saying it has many benefits.
Speaking at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York she added: “It’s a good medicine, you know.
“It’s expansive. It opens your mind. You’re like … Wow, you’re in awe.
“You look up into the stars. It makes you wonder. It doesn’t close that down.”
