Hi,

These are Album 3.2 from Rhodium S2 and Topaz S2 roms. Please use related HTC Menu Enhancement, else menu displayed in Album will have graphical glitch. Also, the zooming in/out using Raphael's SmartTouch is working smoothly.

Rhodium S2
Album_3_2_20113921_0 (OEM)
Album_3_2_20123322 (individual file) [added 10/04/2010]

Menu_Enhancement_1_1_20113129_00 (OEM)
  • 7 items per screen
  • There is a minor graphical glitch when displayed in Album but is not noticeable. When an item is selected, the bottom part of the selected item is transparent (about 2%).

Topaz S2
Album_3_2_20113120_0 (OEM)
Menu_Enhancement_1_1_20113129_00 (OEM)
  • 6 items per screen
  • There is no graphical glitch when displayed in Album

Required Package(s)
Social_Networks_Engine_1_1_20111727_00 (OEM)
SharedResource_1_0_20111720_00
HTCFramework_1_5_19223320_00

Package depending on Album
Media_Tool_kit_1_2_20113122_0 (OEM)

Note
  • G-Sensor Autorotation or any 3rd party autorotation must be disabled for Album because Album handle the autorotation on its own.
  • The dll has been patched to relocate the menu for WM6.5 with large soft buttons. If you are using WM6.5 with classic UI, please use the unpatched dll from Topaz S2 or Rhodium S2 rom.

To do
  • Fix the "Albums" selection. Currently it is still WVGA.
  • Fix image position when opened by tapping on the photo in Manila's Photo tab.

Hi,

I got a black screen when i rotate the album, but I could fix it.

Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor]
"AutoRotation"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName]
"HTCAlbum"="\\Windows\\HTCAlbum.exe"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList]
"HTCAlbum"="HTCAlbumClass"

with friendly greet

Online Album

Have you got online album to work with these? It was working for an earlier album 3.2 and social networks engine but I can't seem to get it to work anymore and I'm not sure why :(

*edit: nevermind found the fix. everything works great now :D

Hi guys,

I forgot to mention that the Menu Enchancement has been patched to relocate the menu for WM6.5 with large soft buttons. If you are using WM6.5 with classic UI, you need to use the unpatched dll found in Topaz S2 or Rhodium S2 rom. I currently do not have my kitchen with me to upload it.

Great job on this, programatix.

You know I meant to mention this with the first patched Menu Enhancement package you posted in the XmlGui thread - I noticed that the background seemed to be moved up, but the actual menu items were not (so that the pop-up menu is not centered vertically). Has this been corrected on these most recent versions?

Ah, I never noticed that. I'll look into it.

Thanks. I appreciate all your hard work. Just in case anyone is unsure of what I'm talking about, I figured I'd post screenshots so you can see:

MenuEnhancement-nopositionfix.jpg
MenuEnhancement-withpositionfix.jpg

The first picture is the no position fix version. You can see the space at the top of the Menu background between the top of it and the bottom of the top bar. You'll also notice that the bottom of the menu touches the top of the bottom bar.

In the second picutre, you'll see that the top issue is fixed; no more white space, but the bottom is in the same position. So the actual menu needs to be moved up to correspond with the adjustment to the background, so that the menu is centered properly vertically.

I appreciate the effort you put into this but there are a few problems I have encountered.

Problem1:
When using album to set a contact picture. No contacts are listed.
albumerror1.jpg

Problem2:
When using the contact card to add a picture from the album, the "albums" menu is too low and items are off screen.
All other menus are fine.
albumerror2.jpg

Problem 3: When using the contact card to add a picture from the album, there is no crop box.

Problem1:
This has nothing to do with Album. It's Contact Picker. Use older version of Contact Picker from build 19xx. Check Kisja Sense 2.5 thread for the posted working package.

Problem2:
I believe that Media Tool Kit is responsible for that. Are you using the patched Media Tool Kit? I just tried on my Touch Pro and I have no such problem. Menu is shown correctly.

Problem3:
I have crop box and it shows properly. It might be the New Contact Card problem. Have you ported New Contact Card correctly?

Edit:
I just cooked a new ROM with the first 2 packages.
Contact picker is aligned properly but still doesn't display any contacts

But problems 2 & 3 were solved with the media tool kit in your first post.
I can work with this.

Thank you very much.

Album Landscape Menu

Hey programatix,

I just found this issue with the Menu button (4th one, furthest right). The Menu in Landscape goes off the page (it's too high). I even tried changing the number of Menu items in Landscape to 4, but 5 items still show up, going off the screen.

This is using the Rhodium S2 Album/Media Toolkit/Menu Enhancement combo you posted. When I previously used the Topaz S2 Album version, it only showed 4 items, and I was able to scroll through the Menu. Any thoughts on what's wrong?

It's Album. Mine look like the screenshot posted below.

The menu properties are hard-coded into Album. That's what I meant by "those people working in HTC are a bunch of weido" (hmm, I forget where I posted that... I think it's in Kisja's Manila 2.5 thread). They make it configurable for HTC Menu Enchancement but hard-coded it in Album. If you want 4 items per screen, you'll have to use Topaz's Album and Menu Enchancement. The Menu Enchancement is actually the same for both Topaz's and Rhodium's except the png and registry value (the "tile" values).

Ha ha, I give up on you..... nah... download the Contact Picker from http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=5588206&postcount=1983 (I did a quick search on "Contact Picker" in Kisja's Manila 2.5 thread... as what I've mentioned in my previous post). Please note that the Contact Picker is not ported yet... though the xml is already ported. I'm currently working on it and I have successfully ported the Group Picker.. but not the Contact Picker itself yet (Group Picker is a part of Contact Picker).

Oh hah Well I downloaded the full package of EXTs and took it from there. not the individual one you just linked. thanks for clearing that up.

Some additional information on this issue:

When using your full ported Topaz S2 Album, along with the Topaz S2 Menu Enhancement & Media Toolkit, I get the first picture, where the Menu goes off the screen. However, using the original Topaz S2 Album, with only the modded HTCAlbum.exe & ported XMLs you originally posted over in the XmlGui thread, I get the second picture, which correctly gives me the Menu with scrollbar.

HTCAlbumMenu-Patched_Album.jpg
HTCAlbumMenu-Orig_Album_ported_XML.jpg

Did you change something in the .exe between your initial release and the Final, complete package you released in this thread? It seems that the issue is in fact fixable; in fact it seems that there's some mod you may have done that somehow got rid of the scrollbar. Any idea on what it could be? You'll also notice that the icons along the bottom are different (specifically the 3rd one from the left, the option for "Sharing" the photo). Could the issue be some of the supporting files you've included?

EDIT: Looking at the pictures side-by-side is actually quite helpful. It looks like the Menu area at the bottom is actually larger in the original Album, so that Album detects that there isn't enough room for 5 Menu items, and gives you the option to scroll. Perhaps the resizing of some of the images has confused the .exe?

With the help of information 4tune posted in the another thread, I've modified HTC Album executable from Rhodium_S2 version in this thread and CameraAlbumService.dll from Sense 2.5.2012 to save cache files in:

\Internal Storage\My Documents\AlbumC

It should be working properly, you just need to have sdkcerts installed.

Download and enjoy! Give me info if any problem happens.

Is it expected to no longer be able to swipe left to right or right to left when the phone is in portrait?

It seems that now I must always swipe toward the top or bottom of the phone to switch pictures.

And tapping a picture that is being displayed full screen always puts the buttons on the left, when held in portrait.

I have the same problem with mine...it's always in landscape mode.
