Disney animator's Wicked storyboard sequence takes fantasy casting to a whole new level

There’s been talk of a film adaptation of Broadway juggernaut Wicked for several years now, with the most recent scuttlebutt pegging it as a 3D project possibly involving Glee creator Ryan Murphy and starring Lea Michelle, at least according to composer Stephen Shwartz’s recent fantasy casting. That’s all very well and good for Glee fanatics, but Disney animator Heidi Gilbert makes a compelling case for going in a different direction: In her spare time, she created this pretty nifty storyboard of the show’s “Defying Gravity” sequence, writing, “Dear Stephen Schwartz, Please let me make this into an animated film. I promise I won't let you down!”

EDIT: Aaaaaand it's been taken down due to a copyright claim from NBC Universal, presumably for the use of the Wicked soundtrack. Lame.

EDIT EDIT: Gilbert has re-uploaded the video to her personal site. It's unembeddable, so you'll have to click over here to check it out.

Considering the stage version of Wicked is only about a half-step removed from a Disney animated film to begin with, this seems like a no-brainer. Plus, why have Lea Michelle screaming the songs when an animated version would allow role originators Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth to scream them as they were intended to be screamed?
