While much of the world considered Lt. Lynn Davis “Buck” Compton a highly decorated war hero, he was just “Dad” to daughter Tracy Compton.
“To us he wasn’t really a war hero, he was just a hero, period,” she said, of her father whose exploits as a member of the famous Easy Company were chronicled in HBO’s hit miniseries “Band of Brothers.” “We know everything he did, but to us he was just a family man. We remember him as the guy who took us camping every year and taught us how to ride bikes.”
