A 53-year-old Brooksville man is facing abuse charges after being accused of beating his double amputee roommate.
Zane Allen Bloomer was arrested and charged with aggravated abuse on a disabled adult Saturday after an altercation broke out at his apartment on Main Street.
Police say Bloomer and his female roommate, whose name has not been released, were involved in a violent altercation Saturday morning at 3:35 a.m.
During the altercation, Bloomer grabbed the woman, a double amputee, and threw her against a wall. Also, police say he struck her in the head with a beer bottle and knocked her to the ground.
The victim sustained minor lacerations to her head but refused medical treatment.
Bloomer is being held at the Hernando County Jail on a $10,000.00 bond.
