Police patrols around 'sex spot' in Gateshead

Police in Gateshead have stepped up patrols at a car park where strangers are believed to be meeting for sex.
The move follows complaints from residents over the site at Hedley Hall Woods, Northumbria Police said.
Police have warned visitors against acting inappropriately, and said that action will be taken.
A police spokesman said: "We will be taking the registration of any vehicles suspiciously parked in the area and conducting home visits."
The spokesman said police were working with the Woodland Trust to address the problem.
"We have received an increase in reports of people attending this area of Gateshead who are meeting for sex after seeing adverts on the internet," he said.
"Our officers will be conducting regular patrols and taking action against anyone committing public sex acts in the area around Hedley Hall Woods."
"This is serious, you could be arrested for this and could be put before the courts."
