Minister Hershkowitz to meet religious troops over women's singing
Science and Technology Minister Daniel Hershkowitz is set to meet with the hesder soldiers who requested IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz to rescind a recently-enacted policy that prohibits religious students from leaving formal events in which women are invited to perform. IDF rabbis are also to take part in the meeting.
Hershkowitz said he will try to dissuade the troops from confronting the IDF over women's singing. "The chief military rabbi's ruling should prevail in any religious issue that comes up in the army," he said. (Kobi Nahshoni)
