MANSFIELD – Jarod Elder is accused of assaulting an amputee and taking her crutches, leaving her lying in a yard.

Elder, 33, is wanted on a domestic violence charge out of the Mansfield Police Department stemming from a reported Nov. 11 incident.

“Elder and the victim got into an argument,” said Bruce Osborn, a member of the Richland County division of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. “The victim ran outside, at which time Elder followed and punched her in the head, knocking her to the ground. While the victim was on the ground, Elder began to kick her in the ribs.”

Officers spoke with the reported victim in the hospital and then returned to the residence, but Elder was not there.

Elder is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Elder’s whereabouts is asked to call the task force at 419-774-3565 or 866-4-WANTED.
