Authorities in Longview locate missing autistic man

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Authorities have located an autistic Longview man who went missing early Wednesday morning.
According to Longview police, Damien Mark Jay,19, of Longview was found safe in Harrison County, some time before 2:20 a.m., Thursday.
Longview police spokesperson Kristi Brian says Damien had been reported missing by his grandparents. Paul and Shari Jay say Damien disappeared Wednesday, and believed he was attempting to walk to North Carolina to be with a girlfriend whose grandmother recently fell ill.
Damien's grandparents said he is autistic, but had not taken his medication since Wednesday, and had no reference of time or distance.
