A 39-year-old woman who was shot four times on a busy Minneapolis street in what appears to have been a road-rage attack is expected to survive her injuries, police said.

"I believe she has been released from the hospital," police spokesman John Elder said Sunday.

In hopes of tracking down the man who shot the unidentified South St. Paul woman on Wednesday, police released photographs of her bullet-riddled car.

The photos of the silver four-door sedan show two bullet holes in the driver's side door, another in the side-view mirror and the window fully blown out.

"We made sure that we did not include enough of the car so that it would be identifiable," Elder said. "We would like to allow the victim as much anonymity as possible for her safety concerns."

The victim was southbound in a congested construction zone on Hennepin Avenue near Groveland Avenue at 5 p.m. when she was cut off by a beige four-door Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows.

She honked at the car, which then slowed down next to her driver's side, and a passenger shot at her with a black handgun.

The victim, who was shot three times in the arm and once in the abdomen, drove several blocks and called 911, then was taken to a hospital.

Police earlier released photos of the suspected shooter's vehicle, which has yet to be located. It's identified as a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Investigators say there were three people in the Jeep at the time.

The gunman in the Jeep is described by police as black, in his 20s and having shoulder-length dreadlocks. Police have not released detailed descriptions of the two people with the gunman.

"Whereas we have received a high number of tips through CrimeStoppers, we continue to ask help from the public in solving this case," Elder said Sunday.
