Women's Energetics: Healing the Subtle Body Wounds of Sexual Trauma And Abuse Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 87 ratings

This small PDF style e-book offers a self-guided energy healing program for women who are survivors of sexual trauma or abuse, and was first offered on the author's blog 10 years ago. A much more robust program is available in the author's newer book out from Llewellyn Publishing, Chakra Empowerment For Women, but this small book continues to be available free to those who wish to try out her chakra work. Consisting of guided visualizations and journal exercises focused on the chakras (energy centers) it first helps a woman release emotions and problematic energy that may have been locked in her body as the result of sexual trauma/abuse, and then helps to strengthen and open the second, or sacral, chakra, the seat of a woman's feminine power. This book is not a replacement for therapy or counseling, but may complement this work for those women interested in pursuing alternative healing methods. Prerequisite knowledge of the chakras is not necessary.

Although designed for sexual trauma and abuse survivors, any woman may engage in this process. The practices will help any woman clarify and strengthen her connection to her feminine energy and power.

Lisa Erikson's Women's Energetics takes into account that we are made of energy at many levels, and addresses this through practical means. I have found her work broadens my understanding of how the body-mind and imagination work to create healing and inner strength.

This is a great guided meditation ebook. Lisa has done the work & shows it with not only this book but as well as several supporting websites to back up her claims of being experienced in this field.

I downloaded a bunch of books onto my kindle that were free. This was one of them. I really didn't ready any of them. But I always have the hope that my kindle will force me to read more, when in the end I just end up using it for movies. I am sorry this review is not really based on the book. I feel the need to be upfront about that. I did browse thru the chapters but It took a lot for me to really get into this book. I am not a huge reader and it does take a lot for me to really get into something. I did finish it but it didn't leave me wanting to read more by this author. Thanks to Amazon Prime on my Kindel for letting me try out books that I don't have to buy. I probably would have been let down had I actually purchased this book. That is probably the best part about the Kindle lending library. You get the opportunity to try out books you wouldn't normally buy or be able to get from your local library and they are right at the tip of your hands. Definitely makes you not feel so bad about it if you don't actually read the book or the whole book. Which often happens to me.

Well worth a read. I've recommended this book for topics other than sexual trauma most especially for the vibrant meditations included. I think it's worth a try for nearly anyone who gets more anxious when they do deep breathing exercises or mindfulness meditations. The visualization exercises give valuable anchors that help one gently tune back into their bodies. There are exercises for dealing with unfinished business in relationships as well as powerful meditations for anger and fear.
