The Sniffer Scottish Flood Risk Management Conference is now in its 10th year.
It is a must-attend event for flood risk management professionals, flood engineers, development planners and other stakeholders.
The conference gives a unique opportunity to get the latest updates on the Scottish Flood Risk Management Act, and hear case studies and best practice on implementing the various aspects of the Act. It is also an important networking opportunity that sees participants return year after year.
2015 sees our most ambitious programme yet. We will welcome speakers from SEPA, Transport Scotland, Scottish Water, Scottish Canals, Forestry Commission Scotland, Historic Scotland, UK Environmental Law Association as well as many other organisations.
We will also introduce parallel sessions and workshops this year for the first time:
- On the afternoon of Day One, the UK Environmental Law Association will run a parallel session covering topics such as insurance, case law etc.
- On the afternoon of Day Two, we will run three parallel workshops:
- 'Resilience in the Round,' which will invite participants to consider the many meanings of the word resilience and how we can align priorities as well as discussion around issues of vulnerability and community resilience.
- 'SuDS Legacy and Designing Streets,' which will include the exploration of the work of Scottish Water with local authorities as well as discussion around designing streets and placemaking
- 'Flood Risk Management Research Needs,' where participants will have the opportunity to provide CREW with a practitioners perspective on what they think CREW's research priorities should be over the course of the next year.
