Is there a freeware DMG to iso converter? I found some for MacOSX but idk how (or if it's even possible) to get them to work for Ubuntu.

Bump? Freeware dmg to iso converters?
You maybe able to use MagicISO through Wine and make it work.

I'm pretty sure (like 95%) that if it is an disk image, you can just rename the extension.
so for example puppy_linux.iso
would still work in os X as puppy_linux.dmg and vice versa

Last time I tried MagicISO this functionality wasn't in the free version. Look for AcetoneISO. DMG files are compressed (file myimage.dmg should say something like VAX COFF executable) so renmaing to .iso doesn't work. It's the cdr files that you can rename, or use Brasero or K3B to burn without renaming.
You may want to look at dmg2img available here -> http://vu1tur.eu.org/tools/
I would second AcetoneISO it is available here:
http://www.getdeb.net/search.php?keywords=acetone
Once you have downloaded to whereever you store your downloads just double click the package and gdebi will open and install it for you along with any depencies it needs.
All of these programs look pretty sweet. I'll post when I try them out.
AcetoneISO worked, thanks all.
