The Future of News Discussed by Washington Media Leaders
<p> As news consumption continues to move away from traditional media like newspapers and television and onto more interactive platforms, a group of journalists and executives gathered today to discuss what the news landscape might look like a few years from now or in the next decade.</p> <p> Taking part in the forum were NPR reporter Eyder Peralta, who is also an associate producer for the network's social media outlets; New York Times reporter Jennifer Preston, who covers social media, politics and business; Peter Cherukuri, General Manager of AOL's politics division; and Steve Buttry, Director of Community Engagement and Social Media for the Journal Register Company - which owns over 350 newspapers and websites around the country.</p> <p> The closing speech of the summit was given by CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Mark Knoller and Paul Taylor, editor of Governing Magazine. They discuss innovation with social media and governance.</p> <p> The discussion was hosted by the David All Group - an online communications and branding firm.</p>
