ST. ANN, MO (KTVI) – Investigators with the St. Ann Police Department are looking for an armed home invader who was wearing a clown mask when he stole prescription pain pills, marijuana, and cash from a disabled amputee in a wheelchair.

The victim asked us not to reveal her name. She said a friend was visiting Thursday afternoon when the gunman forced his way into her home on St. Clement Lane.

“There was a gentleman in a clown mask with a gun to her head,” the 38-year-old victim said.

She said the gunman ordered her to hand over her purse. She said the stolen medicine is how she gets through each day.

“In the last five years I’ve had 13 surgeries and had an amputation of my leg,” the woman said.

Police spent hours at the crime scene. St. Ann Police Chief Aaron Jimenez said the armed suspect has dreadlocks, is African-American and was wearing a clown mask.

“This is an isolated incident,” said Jimenez. “This isn’t just someone who is going around kicking in doors.”

The chief said it appears the suspect knew there were prescription pain pills inside the home. Jimenez said the victim told police she used the marijuana to cope with her pain.

“I’m confident, more than confident our detectives will close this up pretty quick,” Jimenez said.
