Foundation: Drop in number of holocaust survivors receiving aid

The Foundation for the Benefit of Holocaust Victims in Israel published a report in which it is claimed that there was a drop of 16% in the number of survivors being taken care of by the foundation due to a decrease in resources transferred from the Finance Ministry in the last year.

The foundation says that the significant drop in the extent of the aid began due to government support cutbacks, in spite of a major increase in the Claims Conference. The foundation further explained that "the needs of Holocaust survivors are growing due to their advanced age." (Omri Efraim)
