MATTAPOISETT – Mattapoisett Police arrested a 27-year-old woman at a Route 6 motel on prostitution charges Monday, Jan.26, after police conducting surveillance of other suspects in another case noticed the activity from her rental room.

Trisha Macey, 27, no permanent address given, was arrested Jan. 26, at the Hillside Motel in Mattapoisett by local police.

As a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation, police determined that Macey was running a prostitution business out of her room at the Hillside Motel on Route 6. For the past several weeks, narcotics officers observed multiple males arrive at the Hillside Motel at various times and enter Room 108 while Macey’s boyfriend would wait outside. Customers of Macey would contact her by cell phone, which was obtained from an advertisement on Craigslist.

On Monday afternoon, Macey was contacted by text message and arrangements were made to meet. At that time an undercover police officer was sent to the Hillside Motel. Macey invited him in, they said. Once inside the room money was exchanged and Macey agreed to sexual services. As a result, the undercover officer alerted officers outside, who entered the room and placed Macey under arrest and transported her to the Mattapoisett Police Station on Route 6.

Macey was charged with sexual conduct for a fee and transported to the Wareham 4th District Court to be arraigned.

Police did not identify Macey’s male accomplice nor did they say what became of him after Macey was arrested.

Detectives from the Fairhaven Police Department assisted with the investigation and arrest of Macey.
