Who’s Who at Room for Debate

Susan Ellingwood joined The New York Times in 2004 as a staff editor on the Op-Ed page. She has previously worked at The Wall Street Journal, The New Republic and The New Yorker. She holds a B.A. in international studies from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., and did her graduate work at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University, England. She has edited books on 9/11 and Iraq, and was an associate producer of “Last Letters Home,” a Times/HBO documentary. Follow her on Twitter.

Nick Fox came to The Times in 1995 as an editor on the National desk. In 2003 he became deputy Dining editor. He joined Room for Debate in 2012. Before coming to The Times he was an editor on the National desk at Newsday. He has a B.A. from Binghamton University and an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Kevin Noble Maillard is a contributing editor at Room for Debate. He is a professor of law at Syracuse University, where he researches families, popular culture and civil liberties. He has a B.A. from Duke University, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.A. and Ph.D from the University of Michigan. You can follow him on Twitter.

Natalie Shutler joined Room for Debate as a staff editor in 2014 and The Times in 2011 as a researcher and fact checker for the Op-Ed department. Before coming to the newspaper, she worked at Architectural Digest magazine. She grew up outside of Washington, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College in Ohio. Follow her on Twitter.
